Welcome to TeaBuy Korea: Expanding Who We Are

For the last several years Morning Crane Tea has been offering what we call TeaBuy Korea events in an effort to give you our clients the opportunity to taste what we believe are some of the best teas made in Korea. To that end and in the hope that the terms TeaBuy Korea will bring more clients to our site than the terms Morning Crane Tea,  Morning Crane Tea has just given birth to this new blog. Morning Crane Tea will hold only 1 or 2 TeaBuys each year. TeaBuy Korea is now its own wing of Morning Earth Korea.  
Why are we doing this?  First, we at Morning Earth Korea were among the first to introduce special artisan and temple Korean teas to the Western Market. Second, the title of our company Morning Crane Tea is ambiguous as it doesn’t speak enough of Korea. When one searches for "Buy Korean tea", Morning Crane Tea is difficult to find.  That is why Morning Crane Tea now has the sibling - TeaBuy Korea.  We hope TeaBuy Korea will be more recognizable, more adventurous and more ambitious than Morning Crane Tea in offering Korean Tea to the world. 
Where Morning Crane Tea sat and waited for clients, even turning some away and has not responding quickly, TeaBuy Korea will attempt to expand who we are and what we do in offering Korean tea. 
How might TeaBuy Korea do this?
1.  In addition to Morning Crane Tea’s select group of tea companies, temples and artisan producers, TeaBuy Korea will search out the most interesting tea producers in Korea. By promoting ourselves in Korea as well, we also hope that quality tea producers will seek us.
2.  TeaBuy Korea intends to become a source for any Korean tea from any Korean tea producer.  You name the producer, we will find them and see if they will offer their teas through us. Are you interested in wholesale or retail? What teas or producers are you seeking?  We will find them for you and, if available, we will offer them at very competitive prices. 
3.  Are you an individual that simply wants to try some specific teas from some specific producers? What teas do you seek? Ask us.
4.  Essentially, TeaBuy Korea intends to be YOUR source for Korean Tea. In the West? YES. In the East? YES. World wide? YES.  Morning Crane tea has sold Korean teas to clients from 26 different countries. TeaBuy Korea hopes to expand that.
5.  Is there a TeaBuy Korea on-line tea shop in the future? Not yet, but it is not totally out of the question.

What then is the remaining role for Morning Crane Tea?  The role of Morning Crane tea has not changed.  Morning Crane Tea is an Educational Adventure into the heart of Korean tea and tea ware. We want to educate the public in whatever ways we can to what Korean Tea is, from the picking, processing and nectar of the leaves, to the creation and selections of cups, teapots and other tea ware made by master artists to the practitioners of the Korean Tea Ceremony in its many forms and beyond.  Could we become an on-line magazine or book? Obviously that is not beyond our thoughts, but today we are focusing on the launching of TeaBuy Korea. Your source for Korean tea.  Help us launch this adventure.

Brewing Korean Nokcha, Ddeokcha & Citrus Tea

Brewing Korean Nokcha, Ddeokcha & Citrus     Nokcha I have been asked to reveal my way of brewing Korean green teas (nokcha) particularly Sejak, and also how to brew the ancient, but still relatively new to the Western market, Korean tea - Ddeokcha. I usually don’t offer suggestions for brewing, as most of my clients are tea enthusiasts and don’t need advice. However, these wild and semi wild organically grown deep-rooted Korean teas are a little different, and ddeokcha and Lady Hadong's Citrus Tea 3 are relatively new to the Western market. The big thing to remember about Korean green tea is to infuse it for seconds not minutes. That last comment is also the basic crux of what Brother Anthony co-author of The Korean Way of Tea has suggested. He, like me, is very hesitant to make brewing recommendations. Nokcha Simplified

Nokcha, Korea's Green Tea, Simplified   Well here we go, down the rabbit hole in an attempt to explain as simply as possible the green teas or Nokcha we offer at Morning Crane Tea.  A rabbit hole because you never know where it will lead. But in this case I'll try to avoid that trap and keep it simple. Did you think that rabbit hole was in the image above? Well in a way it is. Those small bushes are wild tea growing on a rugged hillside near Hadong, Korea. If you look very closely, you will see a few small short white posts placed near these bushes. They are traps for insects as no pesticides are used and no fertilizer.  Yes, they are organically grown as are all the teas we offer. In addition, after more than 1000 years all of our teas are from authentic Korean cultivars.  But I'm beginning to digress.
