Very Important Note:

You will find Instructions for Ordering and Paying after viewing all teas.
As always, we will be happy to try to answer any questions you may have about our teas and their producers. Each of these teas are from deep-rooted organically grown leaves and can take the heat. That includes our green teas.
Thanks for being a member of our Morning Crane Tea Family.
You really did miss some exciting news on our main post. HERE is the link if you want to go back.

Following are the teas we offer. Note prices Do Not include shipping costs.*

Cooperative Producers

Dong Cheon Tea (DC)
Ha Il-Nam
Dong Cheon Tea (DC)
 (Jeongcha Style Green)

Dong Cheon green teas are different from nearly all of our other green tea offerings. These teas are produced Jeongcha Style i.e. first plunged into boiling water before pan-roasting.  Dong Cheon Tea is the first company whose teas I offered.
A German client wrote a great email about this tea company. In it he said that he had tried many Korean teas but Dong Cheon Teas simply have more "life".

Note: We must purchase 2 of each of these teas even
if we receive only 1 order. The link does to a review of the tea.

Chung Jong Woo
Jangguncha Yeong (JY)
(Highest Rank Tea)

While I can’t say for certain that the tea bushes used by Jangguncha Dawan are actually historically from India, I can say that many refer to these bushes as "large leaf" and that some tea masters believe they are from India.
Their green tteokeumcha is wonderful and their balhyocha is one of my favorites. Their teas sell very quickly in Korea but they reserve a few bags for us. Will you claim yours?
The story of the Princess from India is readily available on the web.  Is it true? I'll let you decide, but thousands of Koreans claim they are descendants from this queen.

Jeong Jae Yeon (JJY)
Jahacha Dawan
(Violet Sunset Tea)
(ban balhyocha - hwangcha - Korean yellow tea.
or is it a wan-jeon balhyocha a hongcha? Korean red tea?)

You may know that Halmoni (할머니) means Grandmother.
Jeong Jae Yeon makes only this one tea. This delicious balhyocha is made like her grandmother made it.
Jeong Jae Yeon's Halmonicha or "grandmother tea" has become the most posted about Korean balhyocha on the internet for good reason. This is truly a grandmother's tea and a great example of authentic traditional Korean balhyocha - delicious.

Halmonicha      40g        $19.00

The review link for this tea is from the first taste by independent reviewers of this tea. It has gone on to be reviewed many other times and in other languages. At the time of this review there was still some confusion about Chinese yellow tea and Korean 'yellow tea' or hwangcha. We had not yet adopted the name Halmonicha or Grandmother tea.

Halmonicha    300g      $105.00
Halmonicha is bulk packed in a 300+g bags.
The actual weight is usually between 325g and 360g

Dosim Dawan  (DD)
Tteokeum-cha (green) and
Wan Jeon Balhyocha - hongcha- red tea

Dosim Dawan, a father and Son team, can not only boast about their delicious teas but also boast that they own some of the oldest most deep rooted tea bushes in Korea - including the 1000 year old millennium tea tree. Korean tea connoisseurs believe these older bushes provide the most tender and flavorful buds and their deep roots encourage the development of the most cha-qi. I recently received several emails thanking me for their So-ip-cha. Don’t ignore their really wonderful green teas that have also received great reviews.  Dosim Dawan is a tea tour favorite stop.

Yejeon Dawan (YD)
Kim Yu Ja and son Jeon Ju Hyun
Yejeon Dawan (YD)

Very Important Note:
On one of our tours, two tea connoisseurs from Australia, suddenly exclaimed, "This is the one! This is the one!" while hugging each other. They had been to Korea a few years earlier and had visited the Hadong Tea Festival. Then they came to Yejeon Dawan and decided this was truly the best.  However, when they returned home the information on Yejeon had been lost. To this tea couple and to many on our tea tours, this is truly a "stand out from the crowd tea producer."

SOA Dawan (SOA)
Kim Se Jin
SOA Dawan (SOA)

After some search, we selected SOA to be our one Boseong representatives. SOA teas are excellent. When the famous Korean TV Chef Judy Joo's producers contacted me to help find a Korean tea producer in Boseong for her series "Korean Food Made Simple" I recommended Kim Se Jin.  He knows his teas intimately and is certified organic internationally.
I once gave a bag of SOA Gogucha to a knowledgeable Korean friend who exclaimed on receiving it, "This is the best tea made in Korea! How did you know?"

Mr. Lee, my Korean tea partner, contacts Master Kim often just to discuss tea.
Note: In 2019 Master Kim Jong Yeol was awarded the "Best Tteokeumcha" award at the Hadong Tea Festival. Typically that equates to the best producer of green tea.

This is Park Jeom Ja the President of the Myungwon Cultural Foundation group in Jeollanamdo and as such has a great following in that area of Korea. She usually sells out completely. This year she is reserving some teas for us - for you.
The Myungwon Cultural Foundation headed by the renowned tea master Chae Won-Hwa is quite famous in Korea for reviving the Korean tea ceremony and training many Korean tea masters.  It is extremely difficult, read "impossible", for us to get teas made by Chae Won-Hwa.
I selected Ms Park because she represents the long and important tradition of individual artisans who work not only to produce ddeokcha and other teas but to promote it to the world. We salute her for that lifetime of work.
Discovering Ddeokcha may be one of the most interesting Korean tea adventures, and that adventure can become much deeper and adventuresome than you might imagine. There are brewing suggestions for Nokcha and Ddeokcha on this post.

Soseul Dawan

Oh Yeong Soon
Soseul Dawan
Jerisan, Korea

One of Korea's most acclaimed authorities for Puer. Ms Oh is a highly respected tea master that we met a number of years ago and whose wonderful teas we have been trying to offer for years. In addition to her exceptional tteokeumcha greens, she offers a wonderful white tea and two fabulous balhyochas including a Hwangcha and a Hongcha. I know of no other Korean producer who also specializes in producing Puer. Ms Oh travels to Yiwu Mountain one of the 6 great Puer Tea Mountains in Yunnan, China. There she goes on a difficult trek to her favorite farmer. There she selects the precise older trees and leaf quality. Then she both participates and supervises the production of her own Sheng Puer 生茶 by hand, "the old way". These are exceptional leaves, improved with 15 or 16 years of being stored in Korea properly.

Historically throughout the southern tea producing areas of Korea individuals made tea for their health giving properties. Gopuer tea or Gopuercha translates to "influenza tea" or the tea to cure the flu. It is made with dried pears and is Hong Man Soo's best selling teas accounting for 70% of all his sales. We make no claim that it cures influenza but it is a fascinating tea and is historic significant. It is made wit dried pears. Hong Mansoo has the reputation of being one of the premier tea producers in Korea and is featured in many articles and on TV.

Daeheungsa (DAESA)
Haenam, Korea

This is the temple that was the home of the famous ChoUi Korea's great historic Tea Master.  The tea comes from large older tea bushes is hand plucked from these deep-rooted bushes and hand made in the tteokeumcha or buchocha (roasted) traditional manner. When we visit Daeheungsa on our tea tours we hike up the mountain to Cho Ui's hermitage Ilchi-am where some of his famous poems were written and where the same fresh spring water that Cho-Ui used to make his famous teas still runs. Their teas sell fast but they reserve a few bags especially for our clients. Claim yours and you will not be disappointed. Recently two tea connoisseurs expressed how great this tea is.

Dancha

Note: There are two types of Dancha both are priced the same.  Nokcha SM Dancha A, that my tea partner Minhyeong Lee continues to rave about is a sweet lighter low % ox cross between green tea and a hwangcha that matures as it ages. The other Balhyo SM Dancha B perhaps the one you were wondering about is a deep flavored wan-jeon balhyocha that matures into a hu-balhyocha. What does that mean? Ans: A hongcha that matures into a heicha i.e. Black tea. Note: These teas are shipped in onggi jars and require higher packing and shipping costs. They are offered at our cost. Added note: The further designations of "light" and "dark"are imprecise terms for these teas but are used for want of a better way to distinguish between these two fascinating teas.

Nokcha Goryeo SM Dancha "A"
Nok Goryeo SM Dancha     200g       $300

 Balhyo Goryeo SM Dancha "B"
Hong Goryeo SM Dancha   200g       $300

Both Teas Are Also Available In Larger Amounts

The tea artist Oh Dong-Seop, who uses his artist's name Shin Mog has become a TV tea sensation in South Korea since many TV stations have discovered and featured him and the production of his wonderful Dancha. All of his wild sourced teas sell out completely in Korea but he is reserving some for us. This is authentic Korean Dancha, produced using historic processes, made by a true master.
Shin Mok lives close to Jerisan National Park that is filled with wild tea. You may have heard that Jerisan is the holy mountain for tea.
Visit the beginning of a special post on Master Shin Mog. HERE.
The question is being asked, "Can you get a smaller amount of Shin Mok's Dancha?"
The immediate answer is no. However, If there are 2, 3 or more interested in 100g, we will try to accommodate you. The Shin Mok’s Goryeo Dancha order comes packed in a ceramic onggi jar. He will not ship any other way. To accommodate you we have to remove the tea from the jar, and divide it into 100g sizes. We take possession of the jar. We are offering Shin Mok’s tea at our cost as part of our service to you. The price for 100g is $150 no jar.

Please help us. What Herbal teas are you looking for?
Lady Hadong makes many tisane teas. We are creating a post on her and her many teas. What are you looking for?
This is Lady Hadong who burst onto the Korean tea scene a few years ago, seemingly out of nowhere, and with her creativity, spirit and innovative methods is quickly making an important name for herself in Korea's Tea World. However, Lady Hadong did not spring out of nowhere. She was literally born to produce tea as a daughter raised and nurtured by a tea farming family. Lady Hadong has what I call 'body knowledge' of tea. The ability to produce exceptional tea is in her pores.  She sells out all of her teas. We are fortunate that she is willing to share some with us at Morning Crane Tea.
Note: Lady Hadong's tisane teas are made at different times of the year including Autumn.

How to Order These Teas
We have been working on a new website for our TeaBuy Korea 2022 orders. It used PayPal as the default method for payment of the teas. We thought it was completed. Then we tested it. We were charged nearly 7% on the test order. In our experience PayPal only charges 3-4%. We would lose money. So for now we are returning to the old way of purchasing.
1. Select the teas you wish and the number of bags you wish.
2. Email that list, along with your shipping address and phone number (optional except for international shipping) to the link below.
3. In the email tell me which way you would like to pay. We have four (4) options. When I receive your emailed order, I will create an invoice and send it to you. Paying that invoice completes your order.
*4. The invoice does not include shipping (see below). Once we have your teas packed and ready to send only then will we know your shipping charge. We will send you a shipping invoice. Pay that and your teas will be shipped. We do not inflate the shipping charge but it will include a charge including your % of the shipping from Korea to the USA if your tea is not shipped direct from Korea to you. The group shipment actually saves you considerable. The range of % has been between .04¢ and .09¢ per g including package. Again, we do not over charge.
5. Please read the following. Then email your order to us.

To Order Send Your Email HERE

READ THIS NOTE BEFORE ORDERING:
*The listed prices for all teas  teas, does NOT include shipping.
As orders are received we alert the producers who then set aside the teas for us. In addition we order and pay for some teas early to assure their availability.  Our final confirming order will be placed with the producers on April 22, 2022. All tea orders must be paid in full at when you receive your invoice. *Shipping will be charged later because unlike teashops, that have paid for the teas they sell already, we have no idea how much tea will be ordered or how much we will have to pay. We discovered that we cannot anticipate shipping cost our attempt last year lost money. Once
You may pay using one of these 4 systems.
PayPal: This option is the default option in our new website.
Zelle: To the morningcranetea@ sbcglobal  .net email address.
Venmo: To our *different MorningEarth@ sbcglobal  .net email
(Note: The above email addresses are separated. Join them.)
Check: I'll send you an email that includes my home address. I can't ask for yours without revealing mine.
A: The price does not include shipping from Korea to us in the USA or to you in the USA or to other countries. Shipping costs will be assessed later. We do not inflate those charges.
B: We send some tea orders directly from Korea to countries close to Korea. However, we really do not have a packing and shipping service in Korea. We buy a % of our teas in bulk and repack them in our own silver bags. This  reduced the cost of the teas for
our clients.  Mr. Lee does not have the facilities to repack bulk teas. Mr. Lee sends some packages to other countries each year to help reduce costs to our clients when repacking is not involved.
C: We are attempting to find an honest European partner willing to accept all European teas and repack and ship them to our clients in Europe.
We do not make money on our shipments.

TeaBuy Korea 2022 is a Group Buy
When we offer TeaBuy Korea, it is a Group Buy. That means that in some cases (not all and not most) the producer offers us a small discount on their normal tea prices. Our clients order their teas at different times. So a customer ordering at the beginning of a lunar New Year, just after we announce our TeaBuy, must wait much longer than someone who orders in March or early April. All this waiting we hope will insure that we can receive and ship all the teas as quickly as we can. But that depends on your ordering and the producers. Last year a producer broke his leg and had to delay shipping two weeks. Since it is a group buy that meant all tea shipments to our clients were delayed two weeks.
We ship the teas from Korea to us in the same box(s) then we must repack them to send to you. That saves you considerably on shipping costs. However, depending on where you live we send some of those teas directly to you from Korea. We have sold our teas to clients in 30 different countries. However, one or two or even a few different clients from each country does not mean we have a financially strong enterprise. We rely on donations now that we can no longer host tours. If you would like to donate click HERE
